Road safety week & Facial & ENT trauma: Dear all Recently we observed Road safety week in India. Here are some useful information regarding Road traffic accidents and trauma. 1. Head & Neck trauma is common in all kinds of accidents, 2/4 wheeler and others. 2. Person may get soft tissue trauma, bony skeletal trauma & trauma to internal structures like brain. 3. Nose trauma, leading to fracture of bones of nose is the commonest of all facial trauma, due to projection and thin nature of nasal bones. 4. If the force of trauma is trivial, then the fractured segment will remain in its place and will not cause any functional breathing obstruction. This will need simple medical treatment. 5. If the force is high and causes displacement of bones, it will lead to cosmetic deformity and breathing obstruction both.
