Mucormycosis with Covid 19. It's fungal infection of invasive fungus called Rhizomucor. It's a common fungus in air more in rural areas. In a covid patient this fungus leads to an agressive, fast growing potentially life treating disease call, Rhino Cerebral Mucormycosis. Very high alert for Covid positive with Diabetes, Old age, and immunocompromised patients. How will you suspect? 1. Loosening of upper teeth 2. Blackening of oral cavity, palate etc. 3. Swelling of eyeball/ redness of eye seen like conjunctivitis. 4. Sudden reduced vision. 5. Double vision in any gaze( when u look upwards, downwards etc. 6. Black color scabs from nose. Unfortunately even though this is a Nose and sinus infection, it generally do not show symptoms of COMMON COLD... more information to follow in next post...
