EAR PAIN, BLOCKAGE & WINTER SEASON: Commonest problem in winter season in ear is sudden pain in one or both ears, or sudden feeling of ear blockage or heaviness. And the reason is " Eustachian tube (ET) dysfunction". ET is a natural ventilation pathway, which ventilates middle ear( which normally has air), through nose. In simple terms it gives and takes air from nose. During winter, due to exposure to cold air gush, common cold or nose block, this ventilation gets affected.
